The 13-piece wins on reality for small kitchens: six magnetic sheaths stick to the fridge side, the knives are dishwasher-safe, and at 16 EUR you are not stressed if one goes dull. The catch is you never sharpen them, so in a year they are worse than a kept-edge block set. The 15-piece answers exactly that with an integrated sharpener in the block, you pull through twice a week and they stay honest. You also get two more pieces, including the small ones people actually reach for (peeler, shears). The cost is the block itself: it eats counter depth and the housing is plastic, not wood. For a first apartment the 13-piece is the sane pick; for a kitchen you plan to keep, the sharpener in the 15-piece changes the long-term experience more than the extra knives do.
